Our 21st Annual Conference
Thursday Nov. 3, 2022 | 8:00 am
Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) is a non-governmental organisation with a compelling vision “to be the catalyst that elevates the status and influence of women and their contribution to nation building”. Our vision is borne out of a desire to assist women as they manage the manifold challenges they face in the workplace, enable them to fulfil their potential and equip them to be meaningful contributors to economic development.
Over the last 21 years, we have impacted over 284,000 women through various programs focused on increasing and supporting the success rate of female entrepreneurs and the proportion of women in senior positions in corporate organisations and public service.
The year 2021 was a celebration of legacy for WIMBIZ as an organisation and a community. It was a celebration of 20 years of inspiring and empowering women to attain leadership positions in management, business and public service. A celebration of tangible testimonials of successful mentoring relationships, career advancements, inspired actions, empowered dreams, advocacy initiatives, partnerships that had worked, strong bonds that had been built from being plugged into a worthy network of professional juggernauts and the transformational impact of programs.
It was the year that magnified a 360 degree review of where WIMBIZ was coming from, where it currently was and a glimpse into where it was going. It was the year when the ovation for the 13 Founders of WIMBIZ was loud and a crystal-clear testament of debunking the myth that women don’t work well together.
For they had built an organisation which has been a catalyst that had ignited many flames of leadership that had become a wildfire for women across the nations of the world. It was the year the Founders bowed out to pave the way for the new and set up a Transition Committee to steer the ship towards the creation of the new.
2022 is a handover year when the transition process of the organisation truly hits the road with the wrappers of elders loosened from the safety of the comfort they brought, to ensure that the journey into the new era begins with strength and vigor. Though It is a bittersweet celebration of succession, in reality, it is a journey into the unknown abyss of huge expectations, silent concerns but strong reassurances that the dream will only get bigger and better as the baton is passed on. It is a fresh fire that will ignite and project the next generation of female leaders into the future. Same would be with a freshness of not getting younger people to do the same things that the first generation of leaders did, nor think the same thoughts or follow through in the same way, but instead retain the sacredness of the vision by blasting it into the future and utilizing new ways of thinking, talking and creating new stories for women all over the world to become the of leadership.
Over the last 21 years, we have executed our vision by empowering and inspiring women through our Annual Conference which has become the biggest and most inspiring Conference for women in Nigeria
Engage, connect, share and be inspired by over 2000 women from diverse areas of the corporate, business and public sectors, including indigenous and international delegates
The Conference will attract over 50 speakers who will build on the successes of previous Conferences and push the envelope by challenging women to break stereotypes and brave uncharted territories in emerging markets
