Bimpe Olufemi

Bimpe Olufemi is Vice President, Digital at Junior Achievement Africa, where she leads the digital strategy that helps the organisation deliver entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work-readiness programmes across 23 member countries. She works where strategy, technology and people meet, using data and AI to scale impact and create sustainable value.

She built her career first in the UK, then in Africa. Over 30 years, she has held senior roles in banking, insurance, and consulting, including Regional Head of Digital Banking for West Africa at Standard Chartered Bank; Operations Director at Leadway Assurance, where she built an operations division from scratch; and Director at FITC Consulting. She holds a Cranfield MBA and has completed an executive AI programme at INSEAD; her board roles add governance and cross-sector perspective.

Her approach to AI is practical. Start with the strategy. Break work into its smallest meaningful tasks. Decide where technology creates genuine leverage. Keep human judgement and accountability where they matter most. For professionals, that means relevance comes from directing the tools well, not fearing them.
