Efuntomi Akpeneye is the Group Chief Legal Ofcer of Oando PLC and has been appointed GM, Legal for Oando Energy Resources Limited Nigeria.  

She has over 20 years of professional experience in energy, mining, M&A, nancing, corporate/commercial transactions, and dispute resolution matters. Tomi started her career at Banwo & Ighodalo, where she gained invaluable experience from various landmark transactions. 

Since joining Oando Plc, Tomi has played a key role in Oando’s major transactions including acquisitions of oil & gas and mining assets, cross-border international/local M&A, and multimillion-dollar nancing transactions. In her Chief Legal Ofcer role, she heads the Group’s legal services department and supervises the legal aspects of the group’s transactions. 

She holds a bachelor’s degree in law – LLB (Hons.) from University of Kent, UK, an LLM in Petroleum Law and Policy from CEPMLP, University of Dundee, Scotland; and B.L. from the Nigerian Law School. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction in Innovation and Design Thinking from Emeritus Institute of Management (in collaboration with MIT, Columbia Business School, and Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth). 

She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria.
