Nonye Nweke

Founder & Executive Director, The Cerebral Palsy Center

Speaker

Nonye Nweke is the Founder and Executive Director of the Cerebral Palsy Center (CpCenter) Nigeria, established in 2010 as a pioneering response to the absence of specialised care facilities for children with cerebral palsy. Over the years, CpCenter has grown into a safe haven and advocacy hub, offering support services, parental empowerment, and public education aimed at fostering inclusion for children with CP, particularly those with extreme severity, who are often consciously or unconsciously overlooked by society.

A passionate disability advocate, Nonye is committed to shifting perceptions and improving the quality of life for children with cerebral palsy. Her work has inspired conversations about inclusion and reshaped how families and communities view disability care in Nigeria.

She holds a degree in Science Education, a diploma in Journalism, and a certificate in Social Sector Management from the Enterprise Development Center (EDC) of Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos. This multi-disciplinary background equips her with the knowledge and communication skills to drive systemic change.

Nonye speaks regularly at conferences and forums, sharing insights from her advocacy and leadership journey, as well as her lived experience as a mother to a child with cerebral palsy, a role she describes as her greatest source of inspiration and joy.
