Ronke Sokefun F.CIoD, FCIS, GCB.D

Mrs. Ronke Sokefun is an accomplished legal practitioner, board director and governance leader with close to four decades of experience spanning corporate law, governance, financial services, public policy and strategic advisory.

She has extensive board experience across listed companies, financial institutions, private companies, public-sector institutions and not-for-profit organisations. She currently chairs the Board of an investment bank and chairs the Corporate Governance, People and Nominations Committee of a foremost indigenous integrated energy company. She also sits on the boards of two agro-commodity companies, amongst others.

Mrs. Sokefun began her legal career in private practice, rising to Partner at a leading commercial law firm before moving into the energy sector, where she served as Group Chief Legal Officer of a major integrated energy company and is currently a Partner at TEMPLARS.

She subsequently served in the Ogun State Government as Special Adviser/Director-General, Bureau of Lands & Survey, Commissioner for Agriculture, and Commissioner for Urban & Physical Planning.

She later served as Chairman of the Board of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, providing leadership at the highest level of a key institution within Nigeria’s financial system.

A Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Directors and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and a certified ESG and governance professional, Mrs. Sokefun was named the 2025 Olutoyin Olakunrin Woman Director of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria. She is passionate about effective boards, institutional leadership, mentorship and advancing women’s influence in decision-making.
