Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani

Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani is the MD/CEO of EnergyInc Advisors, a leading energy and infrastructure advisory firm, and co-manages NERG, an oil and gas equity fund, on behalf of Chapel Hill Denham. With over 18 years of experience across finance, energy, infrastructure, and investment, she has driven over $10 billion in investments across Africa’s energy, climate, and infrastructure sectors. Her career includes serving as Head of Energy and Natural Resources at both FBN Capital and FBNQuest Merchant Bank, and as Senior Africa Advisor on Energy to IFU, the Danish Development Finance Institution.

She serves on the boards of AIICO Insurance Plc, FSD Africa, ALL ON (including its Investment Committee), UpEnergy, and Save the Children International, and is a trustee of WIMBIZ. She served on the Economic Advisory Board to the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria (2017–2019). She has also advised Control Risks Group and the European Commission.

Rolake anchors the critically acclaimed weekend show Business Week on Arise TV, bringing clarity and authority to complex economic, financial and business issues for Nigerian and international audiences. She provided expert coverage at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2024 and 2026, and has featured as an analyst on CNN, BBC, and Bloomberg. She co-founded SpeakHER, a platform amplifying African women’s voices. She has been recognised as one of the Top Female Global Influencers in Energy by the UK Energy Council and was named MIPAD 2025 Energy Executive of the Year.

She holds an MSc and BSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the TRIUM Global Executive MBA — a joint programme of NYU Stern School of Business, HEC Paris, and LSE. She is a Fellow of the Energy Institute, UK.
