Speaker

Irene Bangwell is the co-founder of the KNOSK N100-a-day Charity Secondary School, Kuje. It is Nigeria’s first pay-as-you-go, crowd-funded school where children from low-income families access quality education that equips them with the knowledge, skills and resolve to break the cycle of poverty.

For N100-a-day, school children get uniforms, books, lunch and the girls get sanitary pads monthly.

In Nigeria, an estimated 20.4million children are out of school. 55% of girls and 43% of boys are unable to complete secondary school. Irene’s work at the KNOSK N100-a-day secondary school is contributing significantly to addressing these problems.
