Ugochi Akwiwu-Onyike is a certified Project Manager with over 18 years of cognate experience in the Banking and Energy industries, where she has gained competence in Project Management, Strategic Management, Operations Performance Management, Stakeholders Management, Gas Development and Asset Management.

 

She is currently the Senior Drilling & Completions Engineer, PSC Asset Group A, NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services Ltd. In this role, she is a national hydrocarbon-wealth custodian who ensures proper management of hydrocarbon drilling & completions activities.

 

Ugochi has a bachelor’s degree in project management technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri; master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Benin and is also an alumni of the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.

 

She is a member of several professional bodies including the Project Management Institute (PMI), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), where she has served meritoriously on multiple boards and was the 2021 Section chair of the SPE Benin City Section 116 (The 2nd woman to occupy this position in 30 years!).

 

Ms Akwiwu-Onyike is an advocate for girl-child education and STEM programs. Her goal is to be a distinguished captain of the Nigerian Energy Industry and a role model for young women in Africa. She is happily married with 3 amazing children.
